Cutting angular bezels
When setting angular gemstones such as princess-cut diamonds, the corners of the stones themselves, as well as the corners of the settings, represent critical areas. To avoid damaging the corners of the gemstones when fitting them into angular settings—such as square bezel settings—it is advisable to adapt the corners of the setting as precisely as possible to the geometry of the stones. The 2K-AU bur, with its smooth frontal face, provides an optimal solution for this step in the process. The non-serrated, smooth front surface prevents unwanted milling contact in the axial direction. As a result, existing polished edges in the axial direction remain undamaged when using the 2K-AU.
Furthermore, the 2K-AU bur can also be used for separating individual beads in bead settings, as well as for removing bridges between adjacent gemstones.
